Not really. The material has broken down and is disintegrating. Try a stiff scrub brush to get the worst of it off. It will continue deteriorating.
If the carpets themselves are still in good shape you can glue some jute backing on them to extend their life.
Coco mats, although pricey, are a good replacement.
