Going from small to large isn't a problem, other way round is.
With a small port, large manifold, you make an anti reversion ledge.
Sort of like this but not quite.
When I first saw this engine in the day, I had visions of using it in a rear engine econo rail with sidedraft Webers and zoomie exhaust pipes just for how the package would look.
