I am located in California and not too many of these cars made it to this side of the world.

Will the car suffer from extremely slow start much like a 617?
If that is the case I would have to look at some other option

I'll check in Europe but I would really like to find something in this country.

I was not aware of a v8 diesel. What is the engine code?
