Those oil fittings are bastards-you're openign a can of worms.
Remove the shutoff valve, then you can pull the rear cover WITHOUT taking off the oil filter housing.
Replace all the flathead screws with allen heads and use a ball-ended wrench.
Oh yeah, you're going to need a mirror too
