Working the junk yards takes patience...it's not like your local corner parts store. Most of the junk yards are not a static collection but rather a recycling operation. Their business model is to buy cars at scrap value, put them in the yard for 4-6 weeks to allow people to pull parts and then crush them. They don't care whether a car is rare or whether certain parts can be exceedingly valuable - it's all about velocity, get them in and get them out.
Now there are yards that specialize but for the typical yard you just need to be patient and persistent and wait for "your" car to come across the yard.
