Replacing Vacuum Hoses (W124)

I'm hoping to do a massive swap-out of all my vacuum hoses over the holidays on my '89 124.

The local Merc parts mgr, who is an old car buff, suggested replacing all of my vacuum tubing with Marine reinforced rubber tubing, as he said it's what he does with all of his classic cars, and it's much more robust.

I'd like to know :

1. If anyone else here has done this?

2. If you have, do you recommend it? What was your experience?

3. What specific marine tubing would should I purchase. Type? Size? (and length required to replace all existing enginer compartment tubing?)

FYI, I was just looking at something like the following:
SHIELDS RUBBER Series 368 Low-Permeation Marine Fuel Hose | West Marine

All comments welcome.

Thanks in advance
