We'll since no one here knew the answer (or were to busy to answer) I thought I would post what I found out for other new people.

The torx head on the adjuster is there so you can put an E10 torx socket on a "cheater bar" and lever the adjuster over to the left to slaken the belt.

I also found that regardless of what the manuals said I did not have to unbolt or remove anything. Whole job took 10 minutes. paid 15.00 bucks for a year membership to and found all the drawings, plans, part numbers, detailed instruction and tools needed.
