Just a tip to anyone with an SLC/SL.
Stick your head under the fender each side and you will see a plate fixed to the inner side and with a rubber seal between it and the fender. If it shows any signs of rust or breakdown of the underseal fix it now. Any spaces allow dirt and water through and they build up causing rot where the inner rocker panel, firewall, outer rocker panel and the space behind the fuse box all come together.
