when swapping a passenger seat to a driver in a w123 has anyone ever moved the recline crank from the right side to the left side? I've found lots of seat swap threads but haven't seen whether anyone has done this step as well. I'd like to know if it is possible and if so what are the steps involved.

So far i've pulled the black adjuster knob off. Below that there is a c-clip that holds in place a white plastic 'cap' part that is inserted into a cylinder that is attached to the gearing at the seat recline pivot point. After removing the white cap you can see inside the cylinder is a spring coiled around the perimeter of the cylinder. It looks like this cylinder should be able to come off and attach to the gear on the other side.
