After going through a bunch of them for my Significant Other's E320, and every one of them having a flakey volume encoder to one degree or another, I gave in and figured out a workable replacement and installed it. So I've got a few other working radios, and a few replacement encoders, so here we are.
This one is quite nice looking and fully functional, including the cassette tape player (yes I have tapes and tested it).
Code included, knob NOT included, note the last photo is of a knob with a spring steel tensioner, that is the only style I've found that readily fits these volume encoders. I've had so many of these so far I can't remember what style came with what radio at this point, so check yours and be sure. The encoders I've found have a longer than required shaft and need to be cut down (which the heat of doing so melts the insides if one isn't careful) and it is not a knurled shaft, but the pictured style volume knob fits and work. And no more squirrely volume!
