Wipers on my 91 W126 just stopped working ... rmoved motor/transmission assembly ... pretty easy ... toughest was prying the plastic caps off the wiper axle shafts in order to get to the nut holding the individual wipers on. Typical MB ... incredibly well put together ...

Now, the problem, as all the threads pointed to, was one of the ball sockets (plastic) getting a bit brittle and then cracking, relieving pressure and allowing the ball to pop out ... the one that did this on mine was the main arm attachment - first socket if tracing drive transmission from the motor.

It looks like it could be repaired if the plastic ball sockets are replaceable ... if not, what is the story?

Appreciate the feedback!
