W201 and w202 have different output flanges on the diffs. Same 185mm carrier though.

For the OP the only ones that work are 2.6, 16v, and diesel. Furthermore any asd diff will complicate the situation. One option that may not be what you want to hear is go to the smaller diff. I have one in a spare subframe I picked up for $100. Theyre cheap.

Another trick to make this easier is pop the springs out on each side so you can get the suspension up in full compression. It makes the bolt heads more accessible if your xzn tool is girthy. You'll find it makes it easier to get the axles off the diff too.
