The VIN is correct for the cars that were produced to conform with FIA homologation requirements as to minimum number made to be eligible for rally competition.
As noted above, 107026 = SLC w/5L M117.960.
12 = LHD w/auto transmission (if the original trans is installed it would be a 722.006).
000776 = serial #.

Only a very few of the group were actually destined for competition, however the FIA required that something on the order of a minimum of 500 be constructed (and offered for sale to the public) to establish eligibility.
