I am interested in redoing the drivers seat on my 87 300E. I did a site search and found that the 99 March - April Star magazine has an article on rebuilding the front seats. I would like more lateral support, and the info on the Sportline page about more supportive seats implies that better seats are available. The local MB dealer says that "all w124s use the same front seat spring, the only difference is the pad, which comes in 3 types, for velour, mb-tex, or leather upholstery". They were unable to find anything about a Sportline seat. Were these different seats, different pads, or what? Can a regular MB tex seat be redone with a different pad to get more lateral support?
