If ever there was a place where rust should be a problem, it is Ontario & Quebec in Canada. Tons of salt on roads.

Despite this, there are many W210s on road that are on average 20 years old. Secret is to maintain them properly and this applies to all cars in our environment. Repair any rust spots just as soon as you see them (say when washing car). If rust gets started in a bigger way, say under trim, then remove trim and fix or get it fixed properly. Once a year take the car to Krown or RustCheck or similar rust prevention centres and have car treated. About $100 well spent.

We have a 1998. It looks like new. My wife's daily driver. 245k km.
