Ive Been pulling these lines at the yards over the yrs just because how common its happened on the previous fleet of w123s ,the orig. piece had a rubber surround to prevent metal on metal contact of the clamp against the line , trannie or motor oil deterates this over time ,then with all the vibration of the motor it wears the line .The reason it happens and to prevent it a cut up tire tube should complete the serviced piece.If these clamps still are avail with the rubber over lay that is what I would do and buy a few extras.
