I kind of like to remove the whole throttle housing so making adjustments are easier. Make sure you don't drop the nuts or washers that hold the housing place into the manifold.

The throttle valve is supposed to be completely closed in the idle position. Turn the stop screw in or out until you can feel the throttle plate starting to grab slightly and then use the lock nut to set it. You may need to clean the housing first before doing any adjustments.

Throttle position switch should be replaced in the same position as the old one so that the micro switch is in contact when at idle. The BBB goes into quite a bit of detail on this. If you don't have one you should get one.
