The air going through the air filter and subsequently the seal rings in the plastic U tube is low pressure relative to the compressed air going through the waste gate hose. I think the waste gate hose is the most important item to check because it should be holding a lot of pressure. If you haven't done it yet, clean the banjo bolt at the back of the intake manifold and plug the egr valve. My banjo bolt was severely clogged. Once I cleaned it, the tranny shifted much better. I'd hate to see the inside of my intake manifold.
