Wow, that's really neat. My W116 is setup very differently, though. The intake for the blower case is on the far right of the car and I don't think I could fit one through the firewall like that. It would be nice to have a cabin filter in my W116, but it doesn't seem to be feasible. It's interesting that the W110 and W111 fintails from the 1960s had cabin filters, but not successive chassis.

I saw you had some sheet metal work done on the cowl intake. Too bad you couldn't figure out how to install a filter while you were in there. Some cars require the glove compartment to be removed to get at the filter. Is it possible to do the same? I forget what a w116 setup looks like.
