Wow, that's really neat. My W116 is setup very differently, though. The intake for the blower case is on the far right of the car and I don't think I could fit one through the firewall like that. I had thought about sandwiching a filter between the cowl opening and the blower motor case, but filter changes would be a bit difficult as the blower motor case would need to be lowered, if not removed, each time, and that's a lot of work on its own. It would be nice to have a cabin filter in my W116, but it doesn't seem to be feasible. It's interesting that the W110 and W111 fintails from the 1960s had cabin filters, but not successive chassis.
