Things to do with the valve covers off...

So I noticed a little puff of blue when I pull out at the bottom of my hill which along with a touch of oil on the passenger side plugs has led me to believe that my valve stem seals need to be replaced. I figured since I'll be in there anyway I aught to put in new cam oilers too.

Are there any other good things to fix since I'll be there? How tough is it to check the valve clearance? Are there any warning signs to keep an eye out for when inspecting the camlobes and bearings?

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks!
