Alright then, we are in agreement! haha. I am terrible with automotive terminology, because it seems there are 5 names for the same thing. I was embarrassed once to ask one of my students what he meant by the "pumpkin" on his jeep. I guess that is a term some folks use for the rear diff.

OP, after installing the jack stands, I would suggest that you keep the floor jack installed as well with a very small load on it (just enough to hold in in place). I have always felt safer with more points of contact holding up the car. But obviously if it makes doing your work more difficult or awkward, having the jack there is not worth the hassle.
