Almost forgot to mention....the ridiculously low fuel-cut at 4000RPM had to go. Maybe that's fine for the rod-bending 3.5L, but my 3.0L isn't out of breath yet at 4K. That fuel cut just takes all the wind out of its sails and with the transmission wanting to shift at a higher RPM, it just screws everything up. Too many compromises.

I read back through my notes and saw that the torque control capsule (2e) will adjust that fuel cut. I backed off the nut, and turned it in 2 full turns. Guess what....fuel cut is ~4500 RPM now where it should be on the 3.0L. What a difference it makes in acceleration!

For those keeping track, the only adjustment I did NOT fiddle with is the idle stabilization (2k).

If you're short on patience, I don't suggest learning to tune the IP the way I did. If you do, be prepared for a shortage of hair when you're finished!
