While you're at it you should REALLY do a leakdown test. It will essentially determine if you really need to put the rebuilt head on or if it can wait. I've done everything you mentioned with the exception of the timing chain and my car is STILL smokey with the stank unburnt diesel smell.

For you to plan on doing all this at once along with potentially replacing the head indicates you are extremely well versed with working on these diesels, I just wanted to hopefully help you avoid wasting time and money like I did
