When you re install the handles the paddle on the inner end og the locking shaft, often doesn't quite make it into the slotted hole .


Other times, when the handle was removed the paddle breaks off or the wasp waisted part of the latch itself gets broken ~ earlier models had this piece in pot metal and they were harder to break than the plastic ones ~ kneel down and peer up inside the door with a flashlight to see .
