The other day, I was coming into my neighborhood. There are virtually no speed limit signs posted although most people are aware the speed limit is 25 mph. As I was coasting along at 25, my mind began to think.

What if a young child suddenly and unexpectedly darted out into the street chasing a ball? I'm not sure 25 MPH is slow enough, I backed down to 20.........

That said, I've seen more than a few traveling at 60 MPH+++ Should a child suddenly dart out into the street or an older man or woman walk in front of them, I seriously doubt their foot would make it to hit the brakes in time......
