We had the same problem the first time we changed the oil in Celeste. Only it turned out that the dipstick was not properly seated. It was sitting higher about an inch I think. So of course we added waaaaay to much oil to get it to show on the dipstick. It took awhile to diagnose the problem, but the resulting oil leaks were a good clue.
Just thought I'd mention it!
One more thing to worry about.
