Last week I purchased a vehicle that I have wanted for a long time, a 1983 240d. Runs great, looks presentable, even with 289k miles. I would like to keep it running for another 300k miles. Just changed all the fluids and filters and was considering changing the timing chain. Do you have any words of wisdom in my quest for a long experience with my new toy?

No repair history came with the car.
