I am not sure what spring your talking about. In my 300TD-T, you unscrew the speedo cable, disconnect the electrical and the oil line to the oil pressure gauge and pull out the whole cluster.

Once you have the whole cluster out, there are 3 seperate gauge units that by un-screwing you remove. THen you have the 3 gauge units and the empty housing.
