I think the SUV making "light" contact with another car thing happens more often than you think. I saw someone crease the fender of a parked car with her Expedition and didn't even know she had done it. The bumpers on some of those things are so high that they hit well above any protection on a regular car. I try to avoid parking next to those things, especially in tight lots.
