I found your assessment of the w116 to be a load of bullstank !! I have seen them go for around 6k to as much as 13k in Cali. My 1980 300sd was appraised
at 8500, I paid 2500 for it. I have been offered 6500 for it twice in the last month. Sure many go for much less but it's condition that sets the price on these.JMO
