It's been greatly invaded by yuppies and other rich folks, most of the quaint old houses are still there but the rents are absurd now, good luck affording an apartment there .

I sometimes drive up to the hill where the tourist tower used to be in Western Av. and sit and watch the city wake up ~ it's very peaceful and watching the port that never sleeps is entertaining .

Sadly most of the interesting small shops are long gone .
