Wouldn't be too tough on individuals that followed the FSS schedule on dino oil, Larry...not everyone is as vigilant with motor vehicles fluid changes as we are on this forum.
If my wife was told that the FSS light would tell her when to come in for service, I wouldn't expect her do otherwise.
How many of us go in for regular dental and medical checkups as often as prescribed? I'm lousy at personal maintenance, but my wife is keen on what medical abberations require instant attention.
I got my notice in the mail too. But it would be difficult to cash in on the 150K warranty.
My ML was on the synthetic program since we took possession when new, so it's probably a non-issue.
But the symptoms of the extended oil changes with dino oil resulted in oil "coking" on the piston rings. This is probably the ONLY engine ailment that they will honor under the settlement.
Just try to get your harmonic balancer fixed for free after the new car warranty expires...
