Hyundai Diesel - White exhaust smoke

I used to post here a lot and got good advice when I needed it. I need some diesel help now.

I am in South America currently and own a 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe with a 2.4l CDI turbo motor.

It runs good, but its not a race car. The car has been sitting for 5 months. This morning when I flew in and fired it up it billowed white exhaust smoke. A 30'x30' cloud each time it was started. Also had a knock at idle which went away as RPM's were raised. Smoke increased impressively with more RPM.

Scanned it and it has code PO101 Mass Air Circuit range, PO336 Crank Position Sensor "A" circuit range and then PO101 again. Erased them and they came back.

White smoke would be un-burnt fue rightl? Would PO336 cause that? Would it even start with a bad Crank Sensor?

Any and all suggestions of what to look at would be appreciated.
