A leak at the base is probably the o-ring that seals the fuel chamber. Replace them all, and replace the copper seal in there at the same time. The seal is, I think, UNDERNEATH the pressure valve seat on that pump. The pressure valve is the tiny dodad inside the thing that come off, with a spring on top. Make SURE the spring is on top, and the pressure valve is in right way up, or you won't get any fuel injected on that cylinder!

A socket will fit over the pressure valve holder after you remove the lines.

Also, check the linkage to make sure the rod that goes over the engine is adjusted correctly. On my brother's 300D, we discovered that there is a slip joint in it, and that we had set it wrong, so that he only had about 1/3 total throttle. Preformance increased considerably when I fixed the length corretly. Still not full, since the bushings on the firewall are missing, allowing the linkage to go sideways rather than rotate.
