I recently gave my oldest son a 2002 E320 with 80k miles on it that is in near show room condition. He lives about 2-1/2 hours away in Atl area. Anyway he called and said car rolled back every time he put in park and then it got where it would not start (key would turn). It was the shift linkage bushings under the car that had failed. He had it towed to German Auto Solutions in Lawrenceville and $250 later he was rolling again. Thanks GAS

I went over car with a fine tooth comb before giving to him but did not think to look at shift bushings.
