Someone mentioned to remove old glue/bonding material. I am confused. I do not follow that by replacing the glass I need any glue?

Shouldn't you remove the clips and then put the new glass in its place? Sorry for sounding ignorant.

By the way, what is that exact terminology for this? The only thing I could find out of a MB catalog is "headlight door"?
