Hi Guys and Gals,
On my 1986 300e, the front end really shakes around when I brake at high speeds (50 MPH+.) The dealer in Monterey, CA just did the service about 1500 Miles ago and they serviced the brakes at that time. I took it back to them and the tech told me that it might just be the ABS checking itself. He didn't inspect it at that time. (he also told me that the ABS was a big job and very expensive... bad for me, good for him. I trust him as much as I trust any mechanic. I don't trust many) The brakes do this almost every time I apply them at speed. Not every time, but probably 7 or 8 out of 10. It feels like the caliper is loose or something is way out of wack. Could the tires be pidgeon toed or somethings wrong with the alignment? Are the tires out of balance? Any ideas?
