All the swaps suggested so far should work fine.

You'll also discover the down-pipes on the exhausts are different. You are in a warm enough climate to keep the carb'd intake and discard the carb'd exhaust. That or get the 280S exhaust system.

I doubt the 280S and 280SE transmissions are interchangeable from the perspective of shift points and their reaction to the engine load. Somebody else would have to comment on that. I would stick with the 280S transmission if feasible rather than find out that they don't swap well. The 280S drive shaft and transmission are the "old style". If the 280SE is old enough, the tail of the transmission will look the same and the 280S transmission will go in nicely. If the 280SE is a later version, the transmission tail will look different and the drive shaft front piece is different. If the 280S driveshaft is available, just use that to make the swap. The other way to do it is find an M130V transmission from a 250/8 or 280/8.
