I dought that the gas had anything to do with it setting a code, unless the gas had water, or some other nasty contamination. In such a case, it probably would not have set a code, it would just run real bad or quit altogether.

Teh problem is most likely related to the recurring code set.

You really won't know until you see what the code is.
