Came across this 15 year old post when searching online if a W124 mirror fits in a W126 and it sure does!

The high heat this week took the mirror out stone cold, parked for a week with an UV protected car cover over the car for protection from the sun. This morning found the front seats covered in small plastic bits, the mirror must have literally exploded for the bits to get that far into the cabine...
