I went and did a thing today. I bought a 93 300CE with no engine and trans, that is a Japanese import. Seemed like too cool of a car to let pass by. I also have access to a low mile '96 C36 that has significant body damage. Obviously the general direction of the build is to swap the 3.6 running gear gear into the CE body. That much will be simple nuts and bolts stuff. I don't have a solid plan on the styling Ill aim for but Im leaning towards a clean factory appearing look.

The things that jump out at me as different from a US delivery CE is the IR remote locking with receivers in the drivers door and trunk. Also no passenger airbag nor door speakers. It does have euro style headlights with the level adjustment knob by the light switch. It is left hand drive but with such low build numbers I have to wonder if MB built any as RHD. Anybody know?

I dont really know much at all about the Japanese market cars so if anybody has any resources, please share. I may start pulling the 3.6 from the total loss as soon as this weekend.
