ABS sensors shouldn't be THAT expensive. They're only about $200 Canadian for each one and replacing them is fairly easy. At least, it is on a 190E.

The front sensors should be mounted by 2 hex bolts each. They'll most likely be located behind the backing plate.

The cables run through a grommet in the fender into the engine bay and terminate at an electrical connector. Should be a relatively large round one. There will be one on each side and they'll most likely be paired up with the wiring for the brake wear sensor.

Pretty easy for the DIYer to replace.
