The check engine light is mostly emmisions I think. Do a search on retrieving the codes. Much expertise on this site on this subject.

The wiring harness on your car at 90,000 miles might be done for free if you yell loud enough(contact a regional service supervisor). Just had mine done at 197,000, had to pay though, about $800.
