Tobias MB, don't let the price of the E55 fool you. The actual difference in cost between a 2000 E55 and a E430 with the same factory options is only $9855. That makes the E55 a bargain. Most people will just look at the base prices, $69,800 for the E55 and $52,450 for the E430. The E55 comes fully loaded! When you add the same options found on the E55 to a E430 the price comes to $60,540 and the E55 is $70,395 (prices include Destination). If you buy a E430 Sport instead of an E55 you will have to add/upgrade the following:
1. Stillen/Whipple supercharger (probaly about $4000 - $5000)
2. AMG Headers/4 catalytic converters/rear muffler ($????)
3. AMG 18 inch wheels/tires ($3000)
4. AMG Suspension Kit ($2100)
5. Fenders rolled ($???)
6. Perhaps re-programming of the computer chip ($????) for the supercharger and labor ($????) to install all those goodies. Plus you don't get the AMG two-tone interior, floor mats, shift knob, steering wheel, badges etc.
Stillen is also working on performance parts for Mercedes-Benz cars. They are currently building a CLK430 GT race car. I hope that they make some adjustable coilover performance shocks/struts.
