I remember that I had to pry with a large screwdriver on alternate sides before it would let go. That ended up tearing that rubber boot connecting the air mass sensor to the throttle body. Is the large hose clamp holding the two together good and loose?

If so, pry away (after you've purchased the new boot, that is.)
