Polishing, in various forms and with various substances, is generally what gives you the shine. Wax only protects. After going after the 3M fine cut or M's #2 or #3, go over it with M's #9, then M's #7. Once you have gone through those steps you wont believe how much improved it will look. (don't expect a new paint job...we are only making the most of the paint that is still there) To help protect your investment of elbow grease you then wax it with Meguiar's "Mirror Glaze" #26. Don't use the new Gold Class Wax on the semi-clearcoatless finish. I tried some Gold Class on a car that did not have clearcoat and spent the next hour trying to get rid of the streaking. The #26 wax will work great on just about any finish.
