thanx for the information guys...but just for clarification...the car has 77,000 KILOMETERS...NOT miles...I had a check in the manual and dealership regarding the service interval for the pump and timing belt...it seems the timing belt is to be replaced every 100,000km, and the pump is to be inspected at that time...anyhow, the work was completed this afternoon and I picked up the car...final cost of pump replacement, timing belt, and major service was $874CAD...that price was including taxes...
