Help me figure this problem out.......

Okay, I've read many of the CIS based problems/soulutions for the 107 SLs but one cannot always draw a solid conclusion. It seems no matter what your problem the answer could be mix or match.

Here's my problem and I was hoping for a reply from someone that experienced the same issue and repaired.

I have an '85 380sl with 56,000 miles. I'm experiencing hard WARM starts. It will fire right up when cold or hot....but 99% of the time I have to crank several times (read too many times) when warm. I think that if I pump on the gas pedal it seems to start easier in this situation. However, this could be my imagination.

next...

On several occasions I'd sit at a light with the car idling....all of a sudden the RPMs jump to about 2k....for NO reason. The car just decides to do it. So I pretty much ruled out the common stuck throttle linkage/cable. Sometimes if I turn the car off and restart it will return to normal...other times not.

Could these two problems be related?

Any clues?

Thanks guys!
