I haven't had the opportunity to pin down the detailing guy, but I was able to ask the service manager what they use in terms of rubbing compound. He replied "Pro, Meguiars, or even Dupont."

Next time I get to the auto parts store, I'll look for Meguiars #7 or #9 and try it on my "new" SD's aluminum (?) trim. I think the trim needs to be polished, not just cleaned. Flitz did get my hood star to shine even better, but perhaps it's not as aggressive as rubbing compound.
