rubber shifter surround

Just got my center console wood back from Heritage Woodworks. Looks awesome!! So nice, shiny and rich looking. Literally looks like it came out of a brand new car.

Here's the bad part. The little rubber piece that fits in the hole for the shifter is just next to shot. I told them to leave it out and just send it back to me with the wood because I didn't know what I wanted to do. I would hate to try to put it back in there, because it is in really bad shape, the rubber is hard and brittle. On the other hand, I don't know what else to do. The guy at Heritage said that you cannot get that part seperately at a dealer. Anyone have any suggestions on what my options are??

Dad bought it new, now I own it.
